[Ta Kung Pao News]The government launched the “Hospitality” courtesy campaign earlier this month, with Yau Tsim Mong District taking the lead in responding. The Yau Tsim Mong District Office, together with the Yau Tsim Mong South District Committee and other district organizations, yesterday distributed free ice cream (see photo) to tourists and citizens at the Park Lane Shopping Boulevard, known as the “Courtesy Trail” in Tsim Sha Tsui, to promote hospitality. Some tourists praised it as “very nice and novel”, believing that the publicity effect was very good.
Yu Kin-keung, District Officer for Yau Tsim Mong, said that distributing ice cream is just the first step, and the Yau Tsim Mong Youth Network Volunteer Group will later become tourism ambassadors and “hospitality” ambassadors. The 18 District Offices will organize activities together with the Youth Development and Civic Education Committees under their jurisdiction to promote the message of “going the extra mile, being hospitable”.
