[From the exhibition]
Graphic designer Masakazu Kitayama’s first solo exhibition in Okinawa, “TYPOGRAFFITI 4,” is being held at two venues: Hotel Anteroom Naha in Ichimaejima, Naha, and YAMADA COFFEE OKINAWA chapterR in Tomari, Naha. Until November 4th.
Born in 1967, Kitayama has been involved in a wide range of activities, including designing jackets for artists such as Cornelius and Fuji Fabric, as well as creating the title logo for the NHK TV drama series “Carnation.”
Works with strong messages, including “NO WAR”, will be lined up at the venue. “FREEDOM,” created for a solo exhibition in Okinawa and on display at Anteroom Naha, is made of transparent acrylic that shines through with the Okinawa sky and sea in the background. Kitayama says, “I was conscious of making sure that it would resonate with people of all backgrounds and generations.”
Anteroom Naha will be open from 9am to 9pm, and the exhibition at YAMADA COFFEE will be from 10am to 5pm. (Social Affairs Department, Tetsuhiro Toyoshima)
