On the 4th, Playbrain announced that it will officially stream the Japanese version of the GeoGuessr World Cup 2024, a global e-sports tournament to be held in Stockholm, Sweden, on YouTube and the game streaming platform Twitch.
GeoGuesser is a game where you look at Google Maps’ 360-degree panoramic photos, “Street View,” and guess where the photo was taken. There is also a competitive format where players compete for speed and accuracy in answering, and players answer using hints such as utility poles, road signs, car license plates, and the position of the sun.
This will be the second time the world championships have been held since last year, and will take place from the 11th to the 14th Japan time. The total prize money is $100,000 (approximately 14.5 million yen). There will be 24 participants, including sp4ghet and Shiina from Japan.
