German federal prosecutors have arrested a new Chinese woman on suspicion of passing information on people working in the military industry to an employee of a Chinese intelligence agency who had already been arrested on suspicion of espionage.

According to an announcement by the German Federal Prosecutor’s Office, the person arrested on suspicion of espionage is a Chinese woman who worked for a company that provides logistics services at airports near Leipzig in the east.

The woman is suspected of repeatedly providing the German national with information about the transportation of military equipment and people involved in defense companies between August last year and February of this year.

The German national is an employee of a Chinese intelligence agency and was arrested in April this year on suspicion of espionage for passing information on the European Union’s parliament to Chinese intelligence agencies.
