When will “Gen V” season 2 be released?

A official date for the start of the second season of “Gen V” currently does not exist. However, a premiere is still in effect Mid-2025 on Amazon Prime Video as likely. Production was actually supposed to start in early April 2024 at the latest, but was postponed due to the unexpected death of lead actor Chance Perdomo († March 29, 2024). Filming finally started on July 16, as the post from the official “Gen V” account on X (formerly Twitter) suggests:

What will change in season 2?

Chance Perdomo played the central role of Andre Anderson in the series – the boy who mastered the metal. After the actor’s death in a motorcycle accident, his role will not be recast. The team behind “Gen V” decided to continue the spin-off series to “The Boys” and completely rework the scripts. Andre will be respectfully removed from the plot in season 2. Of course, this leads to a delay in filming and a considerable amount of extra work. Executive Producer, Eric Kripke, explained the decision in an interview (source: EntertainmentWeekly).

“It was challenging, to say the least. We were a week away from starting filming when Chance tragically passed away. So we had to rethink almost everything, and all in just a few weeks. But what I tell people when they say, ‘Wow, this is really crazy or difficult,’ is that it pales in comparison to what his friends and loved ones are going through right now. It’s the least we can do.”
