A new Hollywood comedy full of stars has the potential to win at the cinema, but you won’t be able to see “Jackpot to Die for” there in August. Instead, the potential blockbuster runs directly on Amazon and doesn’t cost Prime members a cent extra.
You won’t see this American action comedy starring Awkwafina (Kung Fu Panda 4, Quiz Lady), John Cena (The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker) and Simu Liu (Barbie, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) in cinemas here can. The film with the original title “Jackpot!”, distributed by MGM Studios, will be available exclusively from August 15, 2024 Amazon shown (Watch Amazon Prime Video).
Not in the cinema: Promising action comedy only on Amazon Prime Video
Who “A jackpot to die for” If you want to watch, you need a Prime subscription, but then you don’t have to pay anything extra. In short: Prime members watch Amazon Prime Video for free (test Amazon Prime for free for 30 days).
You’d rather not become a lottery winner:
And what can we expect from that? California in the near future. Anyone who thinks they have hit the jackpot by winning the lottery is mistaken. Because suddenly everyone is hunting for the lucky winner Katie (Awkwafina). From there it gets pretty turbulent.
Behind “A Jackpot to Die for” is Veteran director Paul Feig (Bride Alarm, Last Christmas) and screenwriter Rob Yescombe. So far he has gained experience writing video games rather than writing for film and television. Maybe that’s not such a bad premise given this type of film. Will it succeed? It’s not possible to say at the moment because no one has seen the film yet and been able to rate it on IMDB, for example.
Actors give hope for a good result
But that one Trailer already promises entertaining entertainment and the cast is also promising. Awkwafina and Simu Liu were last seen as a dynamic duo in Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”. Now John Cena joins us. The muscle-bound wrestler has been proving for years that he can also act successfully and in a highly amusing way.
In this respect, we hope that “A Jackpot to Die for” will bring a lot of life into the place, even if there might be a little more atmosphere in the fully occupied cinema. No matter, you can also eat popcorn at home.
