“Exactly one year ago, Akira Nihonki established the group for people affected by sexual assault. Today, he will be participating in the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland.”

At the UN Human Rights Council meeting on the 26th, a working group was scheduled to officially report the results of its investigation into human rights violations in Japan, and former Johnny’s Jr. member Akira Nihonju also attended the event.

“I want to see the report submitted to the fullest extent possible. I hope to be able to convey a voice that represents the feelings of the many people involved.”

In a report released last month, the working group stated that “deep concerns remain” about the sexual assaults committed by Johnny Kitagawa, and noted that there is “a long way to go” towards providing relief to the victims.

Nihonki will also be participating in related events to call for the eradication of sexual abuse of children.
