Ford Pro continues growth in Germany – best half year since data was recorded

- Ford Pro recorded 39,736 new registrations of its commercial vehicles in Germany in the first six months – more than ever in this period since data collection began in 1990
- This corresponds to a market share of 13.5 percent and growth of 14.3 percent compared to the same period last year
- The most successful model series are the Ford Transit and the Transit/Tourneo Custom, the new generation of which Ford Pro introduced at the end of 2023
- In addition to the completely renewed vehicle fleet, the Ford Pro ecosystem of smart solutions and networked services for commercial customers also contributes to sales success
Ford Pro is still in the fast lane in Germany: Ford’s independent commercial vehicle business unit recorded a record half-year. In the first six months of the year, Ford Pro registered 39,736 new registrations of its commercial vehicles, more than ever before in this period since data collection began in 1990.
Compared to the same period last year, this is almost 5,000 units more, which corresponds to growth of 14.3 percent. This gives Ford Pro a market share of 13.5 percent in Germany, which is also the highest share in the first half of a year since 1990. In 2023, Ford Pro achieved its most successful full year to date with a market share of 12.8 percent.
“We are continuously expanding our market share in Germany,” emphasises Claudia Vogt, Director of Ford Pro for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. “This shows that our vehicle fleet, which has been completely renewed over the past two years, is very well received by our customers. We are also scoring points with our Ford Pro ecosystem, the industry’s most comprehensive range of smart solutions and connected services for commercial customers.”
The record quarter in Germany contributes to the success in Europe, where Ford Pro has led the light commercial vehicle market for nine years in a row (1). No manufacturer has achieved this before.
The Transit and Tourneo Custom model range has proven to be a driver of success. From January to June 2024, Ford Pro recorded 13,050 new registrations with its models in the 1-ton payload segment. Ford Pro introduced the completely newly developed Custom generation at the end of last year.
The new 1-ton van is not only well received by customers: A jury of experts selected the new Ford Transit Custom for the “International Van of the Year 2024” – one of the most internationally renowned awards in the commercial vehicle industry. The plug-in hybrid variant and the purely electric E-Transit Custom successfully launched onto the market.
As winner of the “International Pick-up Awards 2024” Also highly decorated, the Ford Ranger underlines its position as Germany’s best-selling pick-up, achieving 6,459 new registrations in the first half of 2024. However, the Ford Transit remains the undisputed bestseller of the Ford Pro fleet in Germany. The van from the 2-ton payload class recorded sales of 1,400 units from January to June, together with the all-electric E-Transit 15,805 new registrations.
