Kalpatta: Food distribution by voluntary organizations in the Meppadi landslide area of Wayanad ADGP MR. Ajith Kumar intervened and stopped CPI District Secretary E.J. Babu. During the rescue operation in the disaster area, the people were turned against the government. ADGP was creating unnecessary controversy in the rescue operation which went well. The police intervened and stopped the food provided by the voluntary organizations. Revenue Minister K. Rajan was looking forward to the day when he was away and was interfering in the food distribution. EJ said that ADGP has created an unnecessary controversy against the government on a sensitive issue. Babu said.
ADGP’s intervention had an ulterior motive to turn the people against the government. E.J said that this was resolved after convincing the minister. Babu said. Within hours of the Wayanad disaster, Minister K. Rajan and others reached the spot and coordinated the rescue operation. While hundreds of volunteers were volunteering, food was distributed for them by various voluntary organizations in Wayanad. But they don’t need to give food, the government will provide it, said ADGP MR. It was Ajit Kumar. Even then there were doubts about many of his activities’ – CPI district secretary said.
There was a big controversy when the White Guard under the Muslim League was stopped by the Ootupura police, which was formed at Meppadi Kalladi. There was widespread protest over the incident. Whiteguard informed that the service of Ootupura had to be terminated as per the instructions of DIG Thomson Jose. The organizers had also said that the DIG had informed that it was the government’s decision.
