Flight from Singapore to China crashes, 7 injured

Guangzhou: A Scoot company’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner flight from Singapore to the Chinese city of Guangzhou crashed in the air, injuring seven people including passengers. The Straits Times reported that one person was hospitalized. Scoot flight officials said the flight, which took off from Singapore at around 5.45am on Friday, experienced shaking while approaching Guangzhou and made an irregular landing at 9.10am local time.

Four passengers and three crew members received medical attention immediately upon arrival in Guangzhou. Scoot also said that one passenger has been admitted to the hospital for further observation. They said that the welfare of the passengers and cabin crew will be given priority and all necessary support and assistance will be provided. The number of passengers and crew on board has not been released.

Data from the flight radar showed the plane was flying about 500 knots at an altitude of 35,000 feet when it suddenly descended 25 feet and slowed to 262 knots. The plane was then shown returning to its original altitude and speed.
