On the 28th, a fire broke out at the Apple iPhone factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu state in southern India, temporarily halting production. According to local media, there were about 1,500 employees at the time, but no one was injured.

At the factory, iPhones are manufactured by Tata Electronics, a subsidiary of the local conglomerate Tata Group. Reuters, citing fire officials, said the fire started in a chemical storage area.

Apple’s main production base is China, but in consideration of the risks associated with the US-China conflict, the company is increasing production in India to maintain its supply chain. (joint)
