Lee Bok-hyeon, head of the Financial Supervisory Service, signed an agreement to revitalize financial education in the province with Jeonbuk Governor Kim Kwan-young, Jeonbuk Superintendent of Education Seo Geo-seok, and Iksan Mayor Jeong Heon-yul (Chairman of the Jeonbuk Mayors and County Governors Council) at the Jeonbuk Provincial Office on the 2nd.
With this agreement, the Financial Supervisory Service decided to significantly expand financial education in cooperation with Jeollabuk-do and Jeonbuk Office of Education. In order to strengthen financial education for young people, we provide customized financial counseling to young people living in Jeonbuk and provide special lectures to young people preparing for independence. In order to increase the financial education expertise of current teachers, the Financial Supervisory Service plans to expand financial training for elementary, middle, and high school teachers during winter and summer vacations.
Director Lee said, “We expect that the financial education cooperation model between local governments and the Financial Supervisory Service will have a positive influence in other regions.”
