On the 13th, it was learned from an interview with an investigator that the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s Kojimachi Police Station is voluntarily questioning a male assistant section chief (45) of the Financial Services Agency’s Policy Bureau on suspicion of violating the Act on the Punishment of Sexual Photography (photography) for taking upskirt photos of a fellow Financial Services Agency employee. He said he “wanted to take photos of her underwear,” and the plan is to send the documents to the prosecutor’s office as soon as the charges are confirmed.

According to investigators, the assistant section chief is suspected of calling a female employee to a conference room in the Central Government Building No. 7 in Tokyo’s Kasumigaseki district on the night of the 5th, claiming to be going on exercise, and then secretly taking photos up her skirt with a small camera while she was exercising.

He had encouraged her to wear an eye mask, saying it would “enhance the effects of exercise.” The woman noticed the footage and reported it to Kojimachi Police Station.
