It is known that the light from screens can affect sleep. The f.lux tool helps to remedy this by adjusting the color temperature of the computer screen to the time of day in order to protect the eyes and thus ensure better sleep. During the day, the screen appears like sunlight, but at night it changes to a warmer tone that resembles indoor light so as not to disturb the sleep rhythm. Users can specify their lighting settings and locations so that the software can work automatically. F.lux is easy to use and can help users feel comfortable by adjusting their computer screens to their personal environment.
In addition, however, it is important to note that the other light sources in the house also influence the quality of sleep. Dimming and turning off lights in the house can create a more sleep-friendly environment. Smart Philips Hue lights can also be integrated into f.lux and controlled from the computer so that the screen and the general room lighting change together. To connect f.lux to Hue, you need two things: a Windows computer that is connected to the Internet and suitable Philips Hue bulbs. If there are lights that you do not want f.lux to control, look for “Hue lights to use” in the f.lux menu and deactivate those that you do not want to integrate or control.
Tip: The range of sleep trackers extends from models for the wrist to complete sets for the home that are attached under the mattress. We have put a number of devices to the test.
