Shi Jizhi, the artistic director and leader of the “Extreme Physical Dance Company” introduced in English that “Extreme” is the first professional modern dance company in Taichung. He himself studied fine arts at the Normal College. Shi Jizhi has always encouraged young dancers to constantly challenge their physical limits and make their bodies look like paintings. Therefore, his choreographic style is diverse and unrestricted. Shi Jizhi said that this time the choreography will incorporate Taiwan’s traditional artistic elements, including palm opera, which he believes will bring a visual enjoyment that Canadian audiences have never had before.
Chen Enze, the principal of Heping Elementary School, said that the members of the “Heping Elementary School Dance Team” this time include 11 elementary school students and several college students. They include aboriginals, Han Chinese, and new residents, representing different ethnic groups in Taiwan. .

Chen Enze pointed out that it was the first time for the children to go abroad and come to the distant Canada. The children were very excited. Since the air tickets were not cheap, there were no parents who could accompany them. The children all needed the help of the accompanying teachers, including putting on makeup before going on stage. It’s all done by the teacher. Chen Enze said that this trip was only possible because the Taichung Education Bureau subsidized half of the air ticket cost, plus generous sponsorship from other companies.

Master Noodle Maker Wu Junyi will teach children how to make dough Kneaders at the Taiwan-Canada Arts Festival. Wu Junyi said that before the trip, he had already made works including Doraemon, pet dogs and cute animal shapes. He also brought all the tools, such as a secret tool that can brush out the fur texture of poodle dogs. He said he was confident that he could teach children how to make dough on the spot.
In order to welcome the arrival of Taiwanese performing groups, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vancouver and the Taiwan-Canada Cultural Association held a welcome dinner on the 26th, including Deputy Director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vancouver Qiu Jianyi and Overseas Chinese Affairs Team Leader Chen Bilian, etc. All officials attended the dinner.
The organizer, the Taiwan-Canada Cultural Association, mobilized many volunteers to pick up the plane at the airport. Although some volunteers had visited performing groups in Taiwan, the vast majority of volunteers met the “Ji Zhi Dance Troupe” and the children of Heping Elementary School for the first time. them. However, since the volunteers are all Taiwanese people living in Canada, they are not close to each other, so everyone felt familiar as soon as they met at the airport, and soon found out that they are from the same country as soon as we talked.
Chen Enze, the principal of Heping Elementary School, said that the volunteer in charge of reception, Mrs. Huang, lives in Dongshi, Taipei, and Heping and Dongshi districts are nearby. He found fellow Taichung residents as soon as he got off the plane and felt particularly friendly.
