Electricity bills in December will drop by about 50 yen due to the drop in fuel prices.

The average household electricity bill for December announced by Tokyo Electric Power Company will be 8,821 yen, a decrease of 47 yen compared to the previous month.

Prices at nine major electric power companies, excluding Kansai Electric Power, will also drop by 5 to 104 yen compared to the previous month.

The main reason for this was a decline in the import price of liquefied natural gas, which is used as fuel for thermal power generation.

In addition, city gas companies such as Tokyo Gas announced price reductions of 35 yen to 46 yen.

Regarding electricity and gas bills, the government has announced that they will resume subsidies from January to March next year, and prices are expected to fall further in the future.
