Tanith is the mistress of House Vulkan in Elden Ring and gives you various bounty missions throughout the game in which you have to defeat Istvan, Rileigh and Juno Hoslow. In our walkthrough with video, we guide you through all the steps of Tanith’s quest and show you the rewards.

Join House Vulkan & start Tanith’s quest

Tanith is the first NPC who welcomes you in House Vulkan in Gelmir. The journey here alone is quite difficult, as there are many changes in elevation in Gelmir. The easiest way to get to House Vulkan is to follow Rya’s quest, as she can teleport you directly to House Vulkan. Alternatively, follow the marked path on the map below.

Tanith sits on a chair in the fireplace room and is always guarded by her bodyguard, a Crucible Knight. You cannot use weapons in this area and therefore cannot attack these NPCs.

Speak to Tanith and agree to join House Vulcan. You will then receive the Key to the drawing room and you can open the other rooms to her right in the corridor.

Istvan the Old Knight (1st Mission)

In the corridor on the left side you can use the key to open the Open loungeHere you will meet Rya, Bernahl and Diallos again. For the quest, however, you must take the letter from House Vulkan on the table in the middle. This will send you to the Hunt for the Tainted “Istvan the Old Knight”. This is the first bounty you will complete for Tanith.

The location will even be marked on the map. You have to go back to Limgrave in front of the Colosseum in the north. Here, on the way in front, a red invasion symbol on the floor.

Interact with it to invade Istvan’s world. Once you have defeated the knight, you will receive the Scale Armor Set as a reward. Return to Tanith and tell her that you have completed the mission. As a reward, she will give you the spell “Magma Shot”.

Rileigh the Idle (2nd Mission)

Reload the area and then go back to the drawing room to find the next letter from House Vulcan on the table. For the second mission, you must eliminate Rileigh the Idle. His position will on the narrow path beneath the bridge of sin which leads to the Schattenburg in the north of the Altus Plateau.

If you have used the red call symbol and defeated Rileigh, you will be rewarded with the talisman “Crepus’ Vial” and 20x Plague Bolts rewarded. Speak to Tanith and you will also receive the Serpent Bone Blade katana as a mission reward.

Juno Hoslow, Knight of Blood (3rd Mission)

Reload the area again to take the third and final task in the drawing room. This time it is a Red letter that will take you on the hunt for “Juno Hoslow, Knight of Blood” The invasion symbol will be in the northwest of the Giants’ Peak just before the Lodge of the Exalted marked.

At the beginning of the fight you will receive the Gesture “Hoslow’s Oath” and after you have achieved victory, you will receive Hoslow’s Armor Set and Hoslow’s Petal Whip. Turn the quest in to Tanith to receive the Cameo of the Robbers talisman as a reward.

Visit the Prince

After completing the last task, Tanith asks you if you “Visit the Prince” If you agree, you will be transported directly to the boss portal of Lord Rykard (Place of Mercy “Audience Path”). You can otherwise only reach this place if you fight your way through the entire Legacy Dungeon.

Once you have defeated Rykard, return to Tanith. She thanks you for your service and says that she will soon be leaving House Vulcan. Then rest at the Place of Mercy by the fireplace and she and her bodyguard will disappear.

Kill Tanith and defeat her bodyguard

You will meet Tanith again in Rykard’s battle arena, where she is feasting on his corpse. You can kill her here so that Tanith’s Knight then invades your world. Defeat him to receive the invocation “Aspect of the Crucible: Breath” as a reward. Where you killed Tanith, you can now also find her clothes (Companion Armor Set) loot.

Tanith dancer castanets give

It is possible to give Tanith the Dancer’s Castanets from Patches’ quest line. However, this doesn’t seem to have any significant effect. You get nothing for it and it doesn’t advance Tanith’s quest either.
