The Bank of Japan announced on the 13th that the July Domestic Corporate Price Index (2020 average = 100, preliminary report) was 123.1, up 3.0% from the same month last year. This was due to the impact of the government’s temporary end of subsidies for June usage, and the rise in electricity and gas prices.
The Corporate Price Index indicates the price level of goods traded between companies. It is considered a leading indicator of the Consumer Price Index, which shows the price trends of goods and services purchased by households.
