Dhaka: Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen visited the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central office and met with Amir Dr. Shafiqur visited Rahman and other top leaders. There were four people in the Chinese team including the deputy ambassador. Various bilateral issues were discussed in the meeting.
After the meeting, the Jamaat Amir and the Chinese Ambassador spoke to the media. The Jamaat Ameer informed that they talked at length about the current situation of Bangladesh and various issues that can be taken forward in cooperation like education, culture and development. He further called for more investment in Bangladesh and to facilitate the rehabilitation and repatriation process of Rohingya.
“Our meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere. The interests of both the countries came into the conversation. They talked at length about the current situation of Bangladesh and various issues that can be taken forward in cooperation like education, culture and development. We hope that the people and governments of both countries will seize the opportunity to work more closely together in the coming days. China is our main development partner. We have called for more investment in Bangladesh and to facilitate the rehabilitation and repatriation process of the Rohingya. We hope they will actively consider it’ -Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said. He thanked the guests and said that he hoped mutual dialogue would continue in the coming days for the benefit of both the countries.
The Chinese Ambassador expressed satisfaction with the meeting and thanked Jamaat-e-Islami for its hospitality. He assured that they will continue to work for the development and prosperity of Bangladesh.
“Bangladesh is a beautiful country. Jamaat is an Islamic disciplined organization. The people of China want friendly relations with the people of Bangladesh. “We will continue to work for the development, progress and prosperity of Bangladesh,” the Chinese ambassador said.
