Canada’s foreign minister, Melanie Jolly, asked her country’s citizens to leave Iran. Iran cut diplomatic ties with Iran in 2012.
“Those who are now in Iran, it is time to go back home,” she said.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wrote on his X account: “The Revolutionary Guard is now listed as a terrorist organization in Canada.”

Canada had previously recognized Iran’s Quds Force as a terrorist organization and banned the entry of more than 10,000 Iranian officials, including members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, into Canada in 2022.
In 2019, the United States designated the Sepah Pasdaran as a terrorist organization.
