Mississippi ∙ Seven people died after a bus overturned in Mississippi. Many people have been injured. The crash happened around 12:40 a.m. in Warren County, Mississippi. The bus skidded off the highway east of Vicksburg, Mississippi after a tire blew out.

Six people died on the spot in the accident. One person died while being treated at Merritt Health Hospital in Vicksburg. 37 passengers were taken to local hospitals in Vicksburg and Jackson with injuries.

Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey said the dead included a six-year-old boy and his 16-year-old sister. The crash will be investigated by the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division.
