According to VNA correspondents in Russia, many Vietnamese students studying and researching at universities in Moscow participated in this event, which is part of the group’s “Sprout” event series in 2022 to raise money for the “Nuoi em” project, supporting meals for students in mountainous areas to have full meals in the 2022-2023 school year, adding motivation for them to excel in their studies, and at the same time further expanding projects related to children.

Vu Ngoc Anh, a member of the organizing committee and a second-year student at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, said that according to their research, there has not been any book festival officially organized by Vietnamese students in Moscow. At the same time, April 21 is also Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, so the group took this opportunity to organize the event to spread reading to students.

The head of the organizing committee, Tran Thi Van Anh, a second-year student at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, shared that the “Sprout” event series has been in the group’s mind for quite a while. With the goal and spirit of being students, the group always wants to be able to support disadvantaged students to have the best possible conditions when going to school, as well as bring the light of knowledge to their hometown.

According to Van Anh, seeing that Vietnamese students here have a need for books, but are limited in bringing books from Vietnam, the group decided to organize this book festival to create a cultural exchange environment between Russian and Vietnamese, with foreign friends, and at the same time, the revenue from the event will be contributed to the “Nuoi em” fund to extend the circle of knowledge.

Not only displaying and selling books, helping students have the opportunity to exchange about books, the event also includes team games as well as many attractive music performances by Vietnamese students in Moscow.
