At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented 100 gifts sponsored by Metfone, each worth about 500,000 VND including rice, candy and necessities for daily needs during the upcoming Tet holiday. This is part of a program to present nearly 1,000 Tet gifts with a total value of 20,700 USD (about 500 million VND) to disadvantaged Vietnamese families in 8 provinces and cities in Cambodia during this year’s traditional Tet holiday with the theme “Spring of Love Quy Mao 2023”, supporting Vietnamese people living and working in Cambodia to have conditions to enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Lai Xuan Chien, Consul General of Vietnam in Preah Sihanouk province, thanked Metfone Company, Preah Sihanouk province branch, for being the leading enterprise in social security activities in Preah Sihanouk province for many years, including mutual support and charity activities for Vietnamese people here.

Sharing with the community about the Tet atmosphere in his homeland Vietnam, Consul General Lai Xuan Chien expressed his belief that, with the deep concern of the Party and State leaders, the Vietnamese people in Cambodia will have a more stable and prosperous life in the coming time. Sending wishes to the community for a joyful and happy Tet, Consul General Lai Xuan Chien hopes that the community will continue to unite, strive to improve, comply with local laws, pay attention to educating their children, preserve good customs and traditions and always look back to their roots.

Deeply sympathizing with the Vietnamese people in Cambodia in general and in Preah Sihanouk province in particular, Mr. Le Quang Tam, Director of Metfone Company, Preah Sihanouk branch, wished that the people would celebrate the Year of the Cat in a meaningful and happy way. The representative of Metfone in Preah Sihanouk province also pledged to continue to support and accompany the people in accordance with the qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, as well as Metfone’s philosophy – Business associated with social responsibility.

On this occasion, Consul General Lai Xuan Chien presented gifts and sent best wishes to the Executive Committee of the Khmer-Vietnam Association in Preah Sihanouk province, hoping that the Association will continue to support and help people overcome difficulties, and that children of the community will be educated, integrated and successful in the land of pagodas.
