Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Bogor City recorded 25 disaster events resulting from it extreme weather for two days. The disaster resulted in a number of houses and vehicles being damaged, injuring one resident.
“Regarding the impact of extreme weather, rain accompanied by strong winds that occurred on Saturday (9/11) and Sunday (10/11), based on reports that came to us, there were a total of 25 incidents (disasters). (Details) 19 incidents on the day Saturday (8/11) and 6 incidents on Sunday (10/11),” said Bogor City BPBD Chief Executive Hidayatullah in his statement to journalists, Monday (11/11/2024).
Hidayatullah said that the most number of fallen trees occurred in two days with 14 incidents. Then there were 5 landslides and strong winds each, and 1 flood incident.
“There were 9 incidents of trees falling on Saturday and 5 incidents on Sunday. Then 5 landslides occurred on Saturday, and 1 flood occurred based on reports submitted to BPBD,” said Hidayatullah.
“The tree fell due to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and the condition of the tree was fragile, not sturdy,” he added.

The extreme weather that occurred two days ago spread across five sub-districts. The disaster resulted in a traveling cilok trader being injured by a falling tree and 12 houses and 4 cars damaged.

“Disaster points are spread across five sub-districts. (In detail) Tanahsareal, West Bogor, South Bogor, East Bogor Districts, 4 incidents in North Bogor District, 9 incidents in South Bogor, 2 incidents in Tanahsareal, 2 incidents in Central Bogor, and 7 incidents in West Bogor,” said Hidayatullah.
“One person was injured as a result of a falling tree that occurred on Saturday. Then, 12 houses were slightly to heavily damaged, 4 cars were damaged, and as many as 75 people from 22 families (heads of families) were affected,” he added.
