[May 26, KOREA WAVE]According to the “2023 Overseas Korean Food Consumer Survey” released by the Korean Cuisine Promotion Agency on the 10th, the “Korean convenience food” most preferred by foreigners is bibimbap, not gimbap (seaweed rolls). This is the result.
The survey was conducted between August and October last year among 900 local people aged 20 to 59 living in 18 major overseas cities, including New York and Beijing. The Korean convenience menu that foreigners most want to eat is bibimbap, chosen by 22.8% of respondents.
Kimbap came in second place with 19.1%, followed by kimchi fried rice (13%), ramen (11.5%) and jajangmyeon (4.9%) in third to fifth place.
The number one deciding factor for selection was “taste” (21%). Second place was “Price” (13.5%) and third place was Quality (11.5%).
