Floor leader PDIP in the MPR RI Ahmad Basarah said that the former Chairman of Commission III DPR RI for the 2019-2024 period, Bambang Wuryanto or Bambang Paculbecame a party representative at the leadership of the MPR RI. Basarah said Pacul had extensive experience in the political field.

“It’s time for him to move to the MPR institution to become Deputy Chair of the MPR, the name of the senior party figure is Ir. Bambang Wuryanto,” said Basarah to journalists at the parliament complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (2/10/2024).

Basarah said that the decision had been taken by the PDIP DPP. It is said that his party adheres to the principle of taking turns in carrying out duties.

“So it’s like this, the PDIP DPP has decided after appointing me as Deputy Chair of the MPR RI for 2 consecutive terms, deputy chair of the MPR 2014-2019 and 2029-2024, then it’s time to apply the principle of rotation,” he said.

Basarah said Pacul was a senior figure in the party. Bambang Pacul also has a long political record.

“Senior parties who have been dynamic and dialectical in the DPR for quite a long time, have known this for more than 20 years,” he said.

As for tomorrow, Wednesday (2/10), the MPR will hold a plenary meeting to determine the chairman of the MPR and the leadership. The meeting will be held in the MPR/DPR/DPD RI plenary building, Senayan, Central Jakarta.
