On the 26th, Shimane Susanoo Magic announced that point guard Ohashi Hirosora will be leaving the team. His contract expires on the 30th.
Ohashi is from Osaka Prefecture and is currently 25 years old.
While attending Rakunan High School, he won the National Athletic Meet as a member of the Kyoto Prefecture team, and after graduating, he went to the United States and played for a total of five seasons at college and other institutions.
He joined the Shimane Susanoo Magic as a reverse import player in 2023.
Despite being the shortest in the B League at 165cm, he made his professional debut on December 1st against the Chiba Jets, using his stamina, speed and passing ability as his weapons and recording his first assist.
He played in 10 games in his rookie season.
Although his average playing time was only 1 minute 24 seconds, he was always vocal on the bench, encouraging the team and was beloved by many fans.
Comment from Ohashi Hirozora: (From the team’s official website)
“Thank you to everyone in the Susanoo family for your support during this short one season.
Spending my first year as a professional in Shimane and playing in front of all of you has been an irreplaceable experience in my basketball career.
For me personally, it wasn’t a season that I would say was good.
However, the warm and encouraging words I received at all times gave me strength and motivated me to do my best.
Also, the cheers at home games were the best I’ve ever experienced.
I truly feel that I was in a very fortunate environment.
I look forward to growing as a person and meeting you all again someday! Thank you so much for your support!”
