On the 21st, the Shimane Susanoo Magic announced that they had reached an agreement with Sunrockers Shibuya player James Michael McAdoo for the 2024-25 season. The addition of a two-time NBA champion foreign player is expected to significantly improve the team’s strength.

McAdoo, 31, is a center and power forward from the United States, standing 204 cm tall and weighing 104 kg. He graduated from the prestigious University of North Carolina in the United States and played for the NBA’s Golden State Warriors from 2014 to 2017, winning the NBA championship twice.
He then played for the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, as well as leagues in Italy, Turkey and Serbia, before joining the B League’s Sunrockers Shibuya in 2020.
He played an active role as the team’s mainstay, averaging 15.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in the 2022-23 season. However, in the 2023-24 season, he was registered on the injury list on October 13th, just after the start of the season, due to a left shoulder injury, and did not play in any games.

Through the Shimane Susanoo Magic official website, McAdoo commented, “Dear Shimane fans, my family and I are thrilled to have been given this new opportunity! I can’t wait to be part of such a great club and to compete in such a great city with all our great fans! I’m ready to suit up and do my part to help this club achieve success both on and off the court!”
