Domestic new car sales in August were down 3.5% year-on-year to 328,470 units, the first decrease in two months. The figures were compiled from data released on the 2nd by the Japan Automobile Dealers Association and the Japan Light Motor Vehicle Association. Non-light vehicles (registered cars) were down 2.4% to 208,683 units.
