[Reporter Ling Meixue/Reporting from Taipei]The “Hakka Art Exhibition Platform Project” sponsored by the Taipei City Hakka Cultural Foundation, the 2024 flagship production “Water Pear”, jointly produced with the “Secluded Room” Theater Company, will be held at the Taipei Hakka Music Festival from October 31 to November 2 Performances in the theater on the 2nd floor of the Drama Center.

The script of “Water Pear” was written by Chen Hongyang, a rising Hakka playwright. Through his own emotions for his Hakka hometown, he depicts the Zhong family’s fate of the family’s water pear garden, unfolding the family’s past love and hatred, and through the characters’ love for the land. , the conflict between family traditions and real interests, it presents not only a story that happened in a Hakka village, but also a microcosm of many Taiwanese families.

The cast includes golden song diva Jina who challenges a full-length stage play for the first time, Peng Haoqin, winner of this year’s Golden Bell Award for Best Children’s Program Host, veteran theater actor An Yuanliang, rising star actress Wu Jingyi, etc. For this drama, she made her debut with Hakka lines.
