Deputy Inspector General of Police Nimish Aggarwal while informing about the incident said that two jawans from Mahu camp had gone out for a night out with their girlfriends. While sitting in his car, a gang of six men surrounded him and beat him up. After detaining a jawan and a woman, the gang released another jawan with his girlfriend and asked them to bring Rs.10 lakh. After this, the concerned jawan went aside from the spot and tried to call his senior officers. But due to lack of range, he had to go a little further. A crime of gang rape was committed on his girlfriend by beating up another jawan till he came on the phone.

Police said that all the four victims were admitted to the Mahu Government Hospital at 6.30 am and they are going to be medically examined. Indore Rural Superintendent of Police Hithika Vasal told The Indian Express that around 2.30 am, the two jawans came to a secluded place near the Army’s firing range. At that time the accused attacked him. According to the section of the Indian Penal Code, the accused have been booked for robbery, robbery, rape.

Superintendent of Police Hitika Vasal added, “We have arrested two accused. A case of looting was registered against one of them in 2016. Six accused were not yet found in organized crime. At night they saw the jawans with their girlfriends and decided to attack them. One of the accused was also carrying a pistol.” After the accused surrounded all the four persons, they asked one of them to go with his girlfriend to fetch money and when they left, they beat up the other jawan and gang-raped his girlfriend.

Another jawan informed his superior about the incident and after he informed us about it, we immediately reached the spot. On seeing the police car, the accused fled into the forest.
