The 1st of next month has been designated as a temporary public holiday.
On the 3rd, the government held a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and passed a motion to designate ‘Armed Forces Day’ (October 1) as a temporary public holiday.
The purpose is to raise public awareness of the importance of national security and to recall the role of the military and the hard work of its soldiers.
Prime Minister Han said, “I hope that our soldiers who are working hard on the front lines of national defense will have their morale raised and their sense of mission strengthened through the support of the people.”
The request for the ‘Climate Industry International Expo’ to be held at BEXCO in Busan for three days starting tomorrow was also followed.
The ‘Climate Industry International Expo’, planned by our country to lead the global climate crisis response and carbon neutrality, was held for the first time in Busan in May of last year.
This year, it will be held jointly with the International Energy Agency (IEA) to discuss global climate change response measures and gain support for the expansion of carbon-free energy such as nuclear power and clean hydrogen.
Prime Minister Han said, “I urge the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Environment, and other relevant ministries to make every effort to host the event successfully so that the expo can become a platform that plays a leading role in achieving the two goals of responding to the global climate crisis and developing industry.”
