Hard work is synonymous with success. The life story of Anshuman Raj, an IAS officer, is going to be told after a lot of hard work. Anshuman was born in Buxar district of Bihar. Early education was in Jawahar Navodaya School. After completing high school from Navodaya School in Ranchi, he joined his undergraduate studies.
Anshuman had a very poor background. Although there was electricity in the house, the voltage would be low, so the study was done by the light of a kerosene lamp. This genius secured 107th rank in UPSC exam 2019.
After graduation, Anshuman also looked for a job as a marine engineer in a Hong Kong-based company. It was very difficult for Anshuman to spend six months at sea without even having access to the internet. Anshuman started studying after taking a three-month leave. It was a joint family of 30 members. There was no room for Anshuman to study.
Anshuman did not go to Delhi for training even though he wanted to join the civil services. The reason is that there was no money for it.
He studied while staying in his own village. Self preparation. The first two times the result was failure. When he tried once more without giving up, he was selected for the Indian Revenue Service. Since IAS was the goal, I decided to write the exam once again. In the fourth attempt, in 2019, that dream came true.
Anshuman believes that one should never go to Delhi to prepare for civil services. Anyone can learn from anywhere with the help of internet. Undoubtedly, Anshuman’s early education at Navodaya Vidyalaya laid the foundation for his success. Even though it was difficult, my father and mother gave me great support. They never asked their son to go to work and take care of his family. The most important thing for them was to fulfill their son’s wish.
Mother was an Anganwadi teacher. 1500 per month as income. A beauty parlor was also run along with it. His father supported the family by running a rice mill. But the rice mill was sold in 2012 due to huge losses. He was soon diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. When the situation arose where she could not go to work, the mother was the breadwinner of the family. Anshuman was the eldest son in the family.
