IRNA, the official news agency of Iran, according to Amir Gholam Aliyan, a soldier in Kishor, reported that one of the soldiers fired at a military barrack at 04:35 minutes after midnight on Sunday, killing five soldiers. .

Amir Ghulam Aliyan also said that early Monday morning, an individual was arrested in connection with the shelling in the city of Zarand, located in the north of Kerman province, and the investigation into the motive of this fatal incident has been started.

Similar attacks have occasionally occurred in Iran’s military bases. In 2022, an Iranian soldier opened fire on a police office in the south of Iran, killing one soldier and injuring three others.

24-month military service in Iran is mandatory for men aged 19 or older.
