Chinese authorities have said that an assailant killed two people with a knife and injured 21 others in a hospital in the southwest of Kishwar on Tuesday, May 7th (Thursday 18).
Local officials said that the incident took place at Changnan Hospital in Zhenxiong District and the injured are being treated at the same hospital.
Police Zhenxiong said that the suspect of this attack is 40 years old and is a resident of one of the neighboring villages of this hospital. He was arrested on Tuesday.
Chinese authorities have not provided details on the identity of the arrested suspect or the motive behind the incident.
Pictures published on the Chinese state media show a man pointing a knife at another man in the corridors of the hospital, and police forces are also seen around.
