The Japan Skating Federation held a board meeting in Tokyo on the 26th and decided on its business plan for fiscal 2024. The All Japan Figure Skating Championships will be held from December 19th to 22nd at the Towa Pharmaceutical Lactab Dome in Kadoma, Osaka. The World Team Trophy, held every two years, will be held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium from April 17th to 20th, 2025.
Furthermore, with an eye on the 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics, the team has signed a contract with Varese province in Italy, about an hour’s drive from Milan, and announced plans to hold a three-day local training camp at the rink that will serve as their base during the Olympics. The training camp will last for seven days from August 12th to 18th, and will include three-times consecutive world champion Sakamoto Kaori (Sysmex) and 2024 world championship silver medalist Kagiyama Yuma (Oriental Bio/Chukyo University) among the participants.[Kurasawa Hitoshi]
