In Alan Wake 2 you can discover cult hideouts that contain valuable loot. However, these are locked with puzzles and locks. At this point we will show you the locations for each cult hiding place in Bright Falls, Watery and Cauldron Lake and tell you the solutions to open the chests.

Every cult hideout in Alan Wake 2

Cult hideouts are marked on the map with crate symbols when you are near them. To open it, you either have to find a nearby key, remember and enter a code sequence, or figure out a code made up of numbers or symbols. If you want to unlock all of Alan Wake 2’s trophies and achievements, you have to find and open every cult hiding place, as this is a prerequisite for the achievement in addition to the lunch boxes “Hidden by the trees” is.

Below you can see the locations for all cult hiding places in each area and the solutions to open them. Please note that for some boxes you will first need a certain level of story progress because then previously flooded areas will only become accessible. In some cases you will also need tools such as screwdrivers and bolt cutters.

Cult hideouts at Cauldron Lake

1. Cult Hideout (shores of Cauldron Lake): Memorize the code frequency played and then enter it.

Cult hideouts in Watery

1. Cult Hideout (Eastern Path): Memorize the code frequency played and then enter it.
2. Cult hideout (shooting range): The code is 5-2-7.
3. Cult Hideout (Ferris Wheel Slow Roaster): The code is 1-4-7.
4. Cult Hideout (Huotari Well): You can find the key behind the giant Mr. Drippy figure in the center of Coffee World.
5. Cult Hideout (Lighthouse): Enter the correct symbol code (see image).
   

   

6. Cult Hideout (Lighthouse Trailer Park): The key is on the switch box by the power pole in the southwest corner of “My Caravan”. You can climb onto the blue box using the wooden board and reach the key.
7. Cult Hideout (Downtown): The code is 4-9-6.
8. Cult Hideout (Kalevala Knights Workshop): The code is 5-4-2.

Cult Hideouts In Bright Falls

1. Cult Hideout (Elderwood Palace Lodge): Memorize the code frequency played and then enter it.
2. Cult Hideout (Western Bunker Woods): Memorize the code frequency played and then enter it.
3. Cult Hideout (Pick-Up Truck): The code is 1-7-7.
4. Cult Hideout (Southwest of Valhalla Nursing Home): You can find the key not far west of the chest.
5. Cult Hideout (South of Valhalla Nursing Home): Enter the correct symbol code (see image).
   

   

6. Cult Hideout (Ranger Station): You can find the key at the foot of the chimney at the ranger station.
7. Cult Hideout (Harbor Street): The code is 6-9-7.
8. Cult Hideout (Between Oh Deer Diner and Police Station): Enter the correct symbol code (see image).
   

   

9. Cult Hideout (Inside the Police Station): The box is in the evidence room in the basement of the police station. The code is 1-4-6.
