Al Nassr (Saudi Arabia) lost 0-1 to Al Ain FC (UAE) in the first leg of the AFC Champions League quarter-finals on March 4.
Al Nasr’s eight-match winning streak in the tournament came to an end, raising some doubts about their chances of reaching the semi-finals for a third consecutive tournament.
Soufiane Rahimi scored Al Ain’s only goal of the game in the 44th minute at their home ground, Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, before goalkeeper Khalid Essa twice made acrobatic saves to deny Al Nasr’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
Al Nasr’s Aymeric Laporte was also sent off in the fourth minute of added time after 15 minutes of play.
The second leg will be played at Al Nasr’s home on the 11th. (c)AFP
