Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger (77), former Republican governor of California, announced that he would vote for Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris in this year’s U.S. presidential election.

Schwarzenegger said in a long post posted on “I don’t like it either,” he said.

“I will always be an American before I am a Republican,” he said. “That is why I will vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”

Referring to former President Donald Trump, the Republican candidate, Schwarzenegger said, “A candidate who doesn’t respect your votes unless they’re for him, a candidate who’s sending his followers to storm the Capitol, a candidate who helps rich people like me but doesn’t help anyone else.” “A candidate who is incapable of passing any policy other than tax cuts that won’t work, a candidate who thinks Americans who disagree with him are a bigger enemy than China, Russia or North Korea, will not solve our problems,” he wrote.

“We need to close this chapter in American history, but former President Trump will not do that,” he said. “He will divide, insult, and find new ways to be more un-American than they have been. “Our people will only get more angry,” he argued.

“This is reason enough for me to vote with you,” he said. “I want this country to move forward, and even though there are many parts of their platform that I disagree with, the only way to do that is with Harris and Walz.” “I think it is,” he said.

Schwarzenegger, an Austrian immigrant, served as governor of California as a Republican from 2003 to 2011 after achieving great success with the Terminator film series. However, he has shown a critical stance toward former President Trump, and in particular, he has publicly criticized Trump’s racist remarks and the storming of the Capitol by Trump supporters in January 2021.
