Abduction of priest and disciples for ransom of 5 crores, three arrested from Karnataka

Pune : On the pretext of taking the priest to Karnataka for a religious function, the disciples were kidnapped for a ransom of Rs 5 crore. A team of Bibvewadi and Karnataka police arrested three people from Karnataka in this case. The court ordered the accused to be kept in police custody till October 5.

The names of those arrested are Ramu Apparai Valun (29 years old, resident of Trikundi, Dist. Jat, Sangli), Dutta Shivaji Kare (aged 20), Harshad Suresh Patil (aged 22, resident Asangi Dist. Jat, Dist. Sangli) . Jarang Tulshiram Lande (51, Res. PMT Colony, Samthargarh, Bibvewadi) has filed a complaint in this regard. Bajrang Lande is a priest. On July 29, the accused came and met his son Swapnil at home. They pretended that they want to perform pooja at Harshad Patil’s house in Bijapur and install an idol. Lande was then invited to Karnataka for puja. Lande and his seven disciples went to Karnataka. The accused kept them in a room. The accused contacted their families and demanded a ransom of five crores. The Lande family filed a complaint at the Bibvewadi police station. Then the police investigated.

Technical investigation revealed that the accused is in Raichur area. Karnataka Police was informed about this. The three were arrested in Raichur area with the help of police from Karnataka. Deputy Commissioner of Police R. Under the guidance of Raja, Senior Police Inspector Mangal Mondve, Crime Branch Inspector Manoj Kumar Londhe, Police Sub-Inspector Ashok Yewle, Jyotish Kale, Sumit Takpere took this action.
