A press conference was held on August 1st for “Kaeritai Salaryman,” the sequel to the special effects-style radio drama “Kuso Rodo Series Salaryman,” which was broadcast on RKB Mainichi Broadcasting and won the Excellence Award in the radio category at the 61st Galaxy Awards and the 50th Broadcasting Culture Foundation Awards. The much-talked-about “Salaryman” has returned, bigger and better than ever. With the broadcast scheduled to begin on August 24th, production of “The Salaryman Who Wants to Go Home” (every Saturday at 7:00 AM, 8 episodes in total) is proceeding at a rapid pace. The cast was announced at a livestreamed press conference on YouTube’s “New RKB Radio Official Channel” at 6:00 PM on August 1st, the time when people want to go home.
In the second season of “The Salaryman Who Wants to Go Home,” the “salaryman transformer” that was not depicted in the previous work finally appears. The battle to protect the workplace where a man who wants to “go home” as soon as possible “should” “return” begins now.
The new cast is a luxurious lineup of Sugita Tomokazu as the protagonist Yamada, Nozawa Masako as the Beast, Otsuka Akio as the company dog Off Course, Hayami Saori as Yoko, and Han Megumi as Shigeru. In addition, returning cast members from the previous series “Fantasy Labor Series Salaryman” will include Seki Tomokazu as the bodyguard Kojiro, Beppu Ayumi (who also serves as an advisor) as the heroine, Kikuchi Mika as the home-loving wife, and Yoshida Yuichi as the insurance man (Kikuchi and Yoshida co-star as a married couple). In the year 1944 (approximately the 6th year of Reiwa), after the high economic growth, Japan is in a state of stagnation, although the working population exceeds 90%. RKB (= Labor Environment Defense Security) confronts the “Kaiju” that has appeared for the first time in a year, but they are no match for it, having been weakened by cost cutting. Around that time, a “salaryman” appears in front of Yamada, an ordinary office worker. He asks if he can borrow Yamada’s body as “company housing”…
