The military branch of Hamas said on Sunday, November 26 (Linda 5th), that three senior leaders, including one of the group’s military commanders, Ahmed al-Ghandour, were killed in an attack by Israeli forces.
In a news release, Al-Ghandour was a member of Hamas’s military council.
The news release also stated that Iman Sayam is included in the group of the three killed leaders of this group. Israeli media said that Iman Sayam was responsible for the rocket attacks on al-Qassam brigade.
In the news published by Hamas, the time and place of the killing of four senior members of this group has not been revealed.
On the other hand, a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel has been established since Friday, and both sides have released dozens of hostages and prisoners from each other in the past three days.
Al Ghandour, who was also known as Abu Anas, was recognized as an international terrorist by the United States in 2017 and his name was included in the black list of American economic sanctions.
The US State Department said that al-Ghandor (Abu Anas) was a former member of the Hamas council and a member of the group’s political branch, who was involved in many Hamas operations and attacks.
At the same time, there is only one day left for the end of the four-day temporary ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, which was brokered by Qatar and supported by the US and Egypt.
Hamas attacked Israel on October 7th. Israeli officials say that 1,200 Israelis were killed and 240 others were taken hostage in these attacks.
The Ministry of Health under the administration of Hamas in Gaza says that almost 15,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s attacks, most of whom are civilians. No independent source has confirmed these figures.
Under the agreement that led to the temporary ceasefire, Hamas promised to release 50 hostages and Israel promised to release dozens of Palestinian prisoners.
