Two people had a fatal accident during a tandem paragliding flight in Switzerland. They are a 45-year-old Swiss woman and a 51-year-old German who lived in Switzerland, as the police in the canton of Uri said when asked.
The two had an accident on Sunday on the north face of Clariden. The 3,267 meter high mountain is located in the Glarus Alps, around 60 kilometers south of Zurich as the crow flies.
The two had problems right from the start, the police reported. What exactly caused the accident is still being investigated.
During a tandem flight, the guest sits in a seat belt in front of the pilot. Both are connected to the paraglider with safety lines. They start running together down a slope until they take off.
