At around 2:05 p.m. on the 11th, a fire broke out on the Tottori Prefecture training ship Wakatori Maru (516 tons) in the sea north of Kozuchi Island (Takamatsu City) in the Seto Inland Sea, and the Japan Coast Guard reported that “a fire broke out and extinguishing efforts are underway.” There was a report. A total of 42 people were on board, including students from Tottori Prefectural Sakaiminato Technical High School who were undergoing navigational training, but no one was injured.
According to the Takamatsu Coast Guard, the ship left Takamatsu Port around 1 p.m. with 24 students, two teachers and 16 crew members on board.
