As a result of investigating the performance of ‘sports bras’, women’s underwear for sports, New Balance and Adidas products were found to have excellent support. Andar received a review saying that support is relatively weak but comfortable to wear.
On the 5th, the Korea Consumer Agency released the results of testing and evaluating 7 sports bras from 7 brands with high consumer preference (Nike, New Balance, Lululemon, Mulawear, Adidas, Andar, Under Armour) for support, absorbency, and fit. The Korea Consumer Agency stated, “It was found that sports bras can reduce breast movement by about 13-20% compared to regular bras when worn, making them helpful when exercising.”
In particular, the two products, New Balance and Adidas, were found to have excellent support as they caused less chest shaking during exercise compared to other products. Andar was suitable for light activities or low-intensity exercise with a relatively average level of support. The Korea Consumer Agency said, “Andar revised its online product information to reflect the test results and stated that it is a product suitable for low-intensity exercise.”
However, products with excellent support were often evaluated as having strong shoulder pressure or being difficult to put on and take off. Adidas was evaluated as having excellent support but strong clothing pressure, making movement difficult. On the other hand, Andar had average support but relatively weak clothing pressure, making it the most comfortable to wear.
New Balance and Adidas were found to be relatively superior in ‘absorbency’, which is the performance of the lining that touches the human body to absorb sweat, and ‘sweat release performance’, which easily releases absorbed sweat to the outside.
Andar’s elastic recovery rate (the ability to stretch and then return to its original state) is higher than other products, so it can maintain its original shape and function relatively well. Lululemon products have been found to have the risk of contaminating other clothing if left wet for a long time.
