On October 28, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a press conference to introduce and provide information about the announcement ceremony of products achieving the 9th Vietnam National Brand in 2024.

The Vietnam National Brand Program (THQG) is a specific, long-term trade promotion program of the Government to build and develop national brands through product brands. Participating in the Program is a process for businesses to comprehensively evaluate their activities, production/business results and branding strategies through the Program’s criteria system; thereby encouraging businesses to share and pursue the core values ​​of the Program, which are: Quality – Innovation, creativity – Pioneering capacity.

According to the Department of Trade Promotion (Ministry of Industry and Trade), after more than 20 years of formation and development, the Vietnam National Trade Promotion Program has achieved many significant achievements, attracting strong attention and building a solid reputation. with businesses, regulatory agencies and consumers both domestically and internationally. The program not only honors typical product brands and businesses representing Vietnam National Market, but also contributes to affirming Vietnam as a country with high quality goods and services, with strong competitiveness. strong in the international market.

In 2024, despite the complex developments of the unstable geopolitical situation in the world, it has negatively impacted many aspects of socio-economic life, production and business activities of enterprises. Industry, the 9th National THG selection period continues to attract the attention and participation of over 1,000 businesses in different industries and fields across the country.

According to the Organizing Committee, since the beginning of the year, the Secretariat has proactively deployed communication and information about the selection period for products achieving national standards to widely spread to the business community. Diverse communication activities, from taking advantage of digital channels to collaborating with traditional media agencies, have contributed to attracting the attention of thousands of businesses.

Along with that, the Program Secretariat sent official dispatches directly to the People’s Committees, Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities, and industry associations; widely published on the electronic information portals of the Government, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Departments of Industry and Trade, and Associations to increase the number of businesses accessing information about the product selection period to achieve Vietnam National Brand in 2024.

Immediately after receiving the registration dossiers from businesses, the Secretariat and the Vietnam National THG Program Expert Committee actively implemented the evaluation and appraisal of dossiers in a strict and scientific manner according to the process. Open and transparent selection.

After the screening process, businesses’ profiles will be forwarded to members of the Vietnam National Brand Program Expert Board – representatives of relevant ministries, branches, associations and independent experts. in different fields and industries depending on the enterprise’s registered products – and are evaluated according to the criteria system specified in Decision No. 30/2019/QD-TTg dated October 8, 2019 of the Prime Minister. Prime Minister, Circular No. 33/2019/TT-BCT and Circular No. 25/2021/TT-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. This system of criteria was researched and built by experts based on the InterBrand brand valuation method (a famous US brand consulting company) and similar criteria of the US National Quality Award. (The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award).

After more than 9 months of launching and implementing selection activities, on October 21, 2024, the Minister of Industry and Trade – Chairman of the Vietnam National Trade Council issued Decision No. 2776/QD-BCT recognizing 190 enterprises. with a total of 359 products achieving Vietnam National Championship in 2024.

Thus, compared to 2022, this year the whole country has 18 more businesses with products achieving Vietnam National Championship. This is a testament to the attractiveness and influence of the program on businesses in promoting the import and export of goods and services as well as developing the domestic market.

With the theme of the 2024 Vietnam National Award Product Announcement Ceremony “Reaching into the Green Era, the Program wants to send a message about the combination of economic development and sustainable development. On the journey to improve Vietnamese brand to “stand shoulder to shoulder with powers in five continents”, the National Brand Program not only represents the quality and reputation of Vietnamese businesses but also marks a strong commitment towards green development.

The 2024 Vietnam National Brand Award Product Announcement Ceremony will be held at 7:30 p.m. on November 4, 2024 at the National Convention Center and broadcast live on Vietnam Television.
