On the 24th, the Japan Volleyball Association announced the 12 players who will be participating in the Japanese men’s volleyball team for the Paris Olympics, including captain Yuki Ishikawa (Perugia) and Ai Takahashi (Suntory). For the libero position, which head coach Philippe Blanc had stated “only one player will be selected,” Tomohiro Yamamoto (Osaka Bulletion) was selected.

In addition to Ishikawa and Takahashi Ai, the outside hitters in the fierce battle include Otsuka Tatsunori (Osaka Bulleton) and Kai Yuto (Senshu University).

In volleyball, Shoma Tomita (Osaka Bulleion) was selected as the substitute player (one person) for the substitute team, which was introduced at the Paris Olympics. In the event of an injury to one of the 12 members, a substitute player can be used.[Yuta Kobayashi]
